Like offering your work to your critique group. You just brace yourself and try to take the input gracefully. Then you evaluate it objectively (if possible) even though it may sting. Some of it you agree with. Some of it is completely whack-a-doodle and says more about the source than you. But sometimes you get input that never would have occurred to you, that you may disagree with, but that somehow makes a certain sense. Those are my favorites: honest, alternate perspectives.LissaJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11584807385075888865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1175353338409970074.post-12789274189767984822014-01-28T10:25:13.816-06:002014-01-28T10:25:13.816-06:00Was it on your blog that I saw mention of the new ...Was it on your blog that I saw mention of the new book about introverts? For me, I find that the only thing I'm able to nail down in classifying myself is that I'm indecisive. I'm all over the place. This applies to most aspects of my life, but this topic in particular- there are days I desperately want to interact with others, and days I turn off my phone and pretend I'm not home. Of late, I think I have a need to figure it out because my youngest child is such an enigma, as opposed to my clear cut oldest (introvert) and second child (extrovert). amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12787138442619387489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1175353338409970074.post-85727382796471907562014-01-28T10:06:46.085-06:002014-01-28T10:06:46.085-06:00This is a favorite topic of mine as you might have...This is a favorite topic of mine as you might have guessed from a previous comment. I 'care' not so much because I want to judge or label people. I find it helpful to AVOID judging too harshly. For example someone I might initially judge as a clown or a jackass at a social event might just be an extrovert who thrives on external inputs and interactions. 'Extrovert' is so much kinder than 'clown' or 'jackass', dontcha think? Seriously, it really does give me better empathy and understanding of my fellow human beings when I feel I have a little insight into how their brains are wired. You are right, few of us are 100% one way or the other 100% of the time. I am an introvert most of the time, but every so often I need to get out and mix with people just for a little variety. I enjoy it, but there always comes a point where, like you mentioned, I want to just go into another room by myself and read a book.LissaJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11584807385075888865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1175353338409970074.post-37669960255308176202014-01-27T15:49:36.386-06:002014-01-27T15:49:36.386-06:00Thanks for your comment, Lissa! If I set a goal of exercising x amount of times in a week and not obsess about food, I find that I'm able to shed a pound here and there without being completely miserable.

I love your attitude and that you recognize the love and support surrounding you. :) As a big girl (who is currently 35 weeks pregnant and has put on about 50 lbs. this pregnancy), I know how important it is to be surrounded by love.
